About Spencer
Spencer Lemann is a multiple award winning educator, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, composer, and producer based in Los Angeles, and a 2021 graduate of the Thornton School of Music. Lemann has supported Music Mends Minds almost since its inception, served as student advisor to the board, and is proud to have written their first theme song.
Growing up in Los Angeles and taking an early interest in music, Spencer quickly took to learning multiple instruments and grew to value all aspects of the music-making process. Spencer has experience performing, composing, arranging, audio engineering, mastering, and producing in several styles, which contributes to his widespread artistic approach. This is best captured by his first recording project, Fourked. This multi-volume project demonstrates the fusing of genres one by one - singer-songwriter, jazz, contemporary classical, and soul - demonstrating Spencer's struggle to “establish a musical voice” throughout his music education. With new-found inspiration, Spencer is stepping away from the Fourked concept and focusing on funk, soul, and folk influenced songwriting and single production. Spencer runs Citrus Music Studio in Los Angeles through which he teaches and releases/records his own music and the music of others.
